How records are maintained
We combine program publications and attributed community datasets into checked-in snapshots. Automated validation checks program IDs, dates, links, duplicate records and required fields before a snapshot is published. A failed refresh leaves the previous published dataset in place.
Names and explicit aliases connect the same organization across programs. The directory shows one organization card, while each program, year and cohort remains a separate participation record. Project-level records and umbrella organizations are not automatically merged just because they share a hosting domain.
Corrections and missing programs
Use the correction link on an organization’s page or open a data issue with an official source. Additional programs can be added through the program registry and a documented data import.
Proposals, umbrella projects and images
The proposal library links to public community archives and retains their reported outcome labels. It does not infer participation or acceptance rates from proposal uploads. NumFOCUS, Apache and Python sub-project frequencies use unambiguous names in indexed project titles; ideas-list appearances are separate. CNCF frequencies use indexed LFX records.
Cached logos and website icons retain their owners’ rights. Their sources and fetch dates are listed in data/logos.json in the downloadable source. Missing logos show text initials.
Community links and project charts
Contact links come from published GSoC listings; the listing year is shown because older channels may have moved. Repository directories come from the communities’ public GitHub organizations. A repository listing does not imply program participation. Charts count indexed project records, including ideas when that is the source coverage; missing years are not represented as zero.
Credits and reuse
The project draws on GSoC Organizations by Nishant (GPL-3.0) and the Summer of Bitcoin directory by Jaydeep (MIT). The 2009–2015 GSoC project mirror comes from Vaibhav Gupta’s GSoC Data Analyser (MIT). Original notices are retained in the source. Program names, organization marks and linked project materials belong to their respective owners.
Our code is available under GPL-3.0. Browse the repository or download the corresponding source archive. Source attribution and coverage notes are included with the data.
